Please note: The start date for this position is Monday, December 30, 2024, and the end date is Friday, June 27th, 2025. You are expected to be available to work during that entire time period if you accept this position. MGH orientation starts on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Experience: At least one clinical experience.
Lunder 9 is a thirty-two-bed adult inpatient acute care medical oncology unit that provides Relationship Based Care. Most of the patients cared for on this unit have a diagnosis of lymphoma, multiple myeloma, sarcoma, or a solid tumor cancer. Patients are cared for throughout the cancer trajectory - from time of diagnosis, treatment, and through end of life.
CPR: Either American Red Cross or American Heart Association for Health Care Providers certification is required. Any other provider of CPR certification will not be accepted.
After interviews, we require 4 references to complete our online reference check. Two should be clinical instructors or teaching assistants in the Nursing Skills lab. If you have been on co-op before, please include your previous Nurse Director down as a reference. Ideally, all references would have supervised you in a hospital setting and can attest to your nursing skills, especially in interacting with patients. If this is not possible, then please include other faculty and/or work managers.
Education Level: Sophomore to senior nursing students.
Hours: 36-40/week; hours vary by unit; most positions require rotation through different shifts - day/evening, day/night, and some weekends; confirm this during your interview.
Special Requirements: Offers for co-op employment require that nursing students have a nursing faculty instructor, or designee, complete a MGH Clinic Associate Competency checklist. This form is available from the co-op faculty coordinators.
Minimum Requirements:
- HS Diploma required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current enrollment in Northeastern University Nursing School Program.
- Completion of the MGH PCA Skills checklist with at least one clinical rotation completed.
